Ali Amin Gandapur of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf was Saturday sworn in as the 20th Chief Minister of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Governor KP Haji Ghulam Ali administered the oath to Gandapur at a simple but impressive ceremony held at the Governor House Peshawar.

Besides the Speaker of KP assembly Babar Salim Swati and Deputy Speaker Surayya Bibi, the ceremony was also attended by the newly elected MNAs, MPAs, Chief Secretary KP and the provincial Police Chief and the top military and civil officers also attended the ceremony.

Ali Amin Gandapur was Friday voted as the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province securing 90 votes out of 106. He was named for the Chief Ministership of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by the PTI founder and former Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan.

Amin Gandapur, on the other hand reiterated his pledge to uphold democratic values and spare no effort to serve the people if he assumes the CM office.

Ali Amin Gandapur also reiterated that PTI was strictly opposed to confrontational politics though its mandate was stolen under a planned conspiracy and fake FIRs were being registered against the PTI leadership. He pledged to put the province on the path of development and prosperity after taking over the reign adding justice would prevail in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and PTI would never resort to victimizing the political opponents.

However, soon after his election the newly elected Chief Minister had directed the Inspector General of Police to withdraw all fake FIRs registered against PTI leaders and workers within a week time. He also demanded to quash the first information reports against the female candidates of PTI, asking Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa to form a judicial commission on the May 9 incident.

In the meanwhile CM Gandapur who has shortlisted its team for the KP Cabinet is likely to meet the party Chief Imran Khan to seek approval for the shortlisted cabinet members may be 15 in number.
