Special Assistant to Punjab Chief Minister on Information Hasaan Khawar on Monday said that by giving a fugitive politician the opportunity to address a conference organised in the name of justice and in the presence of members of the superior judiciary, was nothing more than ridiculing the judiciary and state institutions.
He said that the Opposition, while running away from accountability, accuses the government of victimisation; and when found guilty, shouts of selective justice.
Responding to various questions from media persons, Hasaan Khawar further said that the PML-N is the foremost founder of leaking audio and videotapes against persons and institutions in order to muddle in the judicial process when their crimes are uncovered.
Stating on the occasion, he termed the Dubai Expo beneficial for Punjab and said that 20 MoUs signed at the Expo would result in much-needed investment to the tune of Rs 45 billion in Punjab which will be vital in the development of the province.
He said that an Investment Portal as well as a help desk has also been set up to facilitate the investors in this regard. Hasaan Khawar said that in this regard an investment facilitation cell is working under the supervision of Chief Minister Punjab.
The hassle of getting NOC for businesses has now been done away with. He hoped that this private investment would prove no less than good news and a gift for the people of Punjab.
Meanwhile, Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi is playing an important role in imparting agricultural education and research in areas.
These views were expressed by Minister for Agriculture, Punjab Syed Hussain Jahania Gardezi while addressing the inaugural session of “Silver Jubilee” Week at Arid Agriculture University, Rawalpindi.
Federal Minister for Information & Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry was also present. Provincial Minister said that the 25-years journey of Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi is highly commendable.
The university has rendered invaluable services in the field of agricultural education and research. Graduates of the same university are rendering valuable services in various institutions across the country.
Arid Agriculture University has also been instrumental in introducing hydroponic technology in the country while research projects on high-value crops are underway. This will help in the modern development of agriculture in the region in future.
Students of this University are involved in Rabi crop production campaigns 2021-22 including Wheat crop and in this regard, providing awareness to farmers about the latest production technology of Rabi crops.
Hussain Jahania Gardezi further said that unfortunately in the past no importance was given to agricultural education and research.
Education-based research actually played the most important role in determining the direction of the agriculture sector.
On this occasion, Vice-Chancellor, Arid Agriculture University, Rawalpindi Dr.Qamar Zaman said that there are 6 faculties working in this university at present and the total number of students in this institution is more than 12 thousand.
Apart from agriculture, education is being imparted in the fields of Veterinary, Biochemistry and Information Technology at the university.
He thanked both Ministers for attending the Silver Jubilee celebrations. A large number of scholars, academia and students attended the “Silver Jubilee celebrations” of Arid Agriculture University, Rawalpindi.
