FPSC changes date for CSS 2027 MPT test amid protest call

Fpsc Turns Down Reports Of Sharp Decline In Css Candidates

ISLAMABAD – The Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) has rescheduled the MCQs-Based Preliminary Test (MPT) for the CSS Competitive Examination 2027 from September 27 to October 10, 2026.

The decision follows the announcement of a protest scheduled for September 27, 2026. The MPT will now be conducted on Saturday, October 10, instead of the previously announced date of Sunday, September 27.

The commission said the change has been made for the convenience of CSS CE-2027 aspirants and to ensure the smooth and orderly conduct of the preliminary test.

All other terms and conditions relating to the MPT for the CSS Competitive Examination 2027 will remain unchanged.

The rescheduling comes as Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has announced a major protest and long march towards Islamabad for September 27, 2026.

Earlier this month, FPSC had temporarily suspended online applications and registration services for MCQs Based Preliminary Test (MPT) for CSS Competitive Examination-2027 due to security threats.

The commission said its web services entered read-only mode at 10am on August 13 and will remain limited until noon on August 16.

“It is intimated for the information of all concerned that as per Government policy and security measures all web services of FPSC are being made Read-Only Mode to cater against anticipated cyber threats from 13 August, 2026 10:00 AM to 16 August, 2026 12:00 Noon,” read the notice.

“Consequently, online registration/application submission for MPT-2027 will remain temporarily unavailable during this period,” it added.
