ISLAMABAD – Four Rangers personnel were martyred, and several others injured when a vehicle was deliberately rammed into them during violent protests by PTI supporters on Srinagar Highway in Islamabad. The administration has called in the Pakistan Army under Article 245 of the Constitution to restore order and issued shoot-on-sight orders against the miscreants.
The security sources said that the violent attacks by PTI protesters have claimed the lives of four Rangers officials and two police personnel. At least five others, including law enforcement officials, sustained critical injuries during the unrest.
Over 100 police officers have been reported injured, with several in critical condition, as clashes between law enforcement and protesters escalate.
To counter the growing violence, strict measures have been implemented. Security forces have been instructed to deal with rioters and anarchists with an iron hand. Clear shoot-on-sight orders have been issued against anyone involved in acts of violence or terrorism, according to officials.
The security agencies affirmed that all necessary steps are being taken to ensure the safety of citizens and prevent further unrest.
