Four killed, 19 injured in fire at leather warehouse

Four people were killed while 21 others were injured after fire erupted in a leather warehouse in Mochi gate area of Lahore on wee hours of Thursday. According to reports, 22 people, who were working inside the warehouse at the time, received injuries.
They were taken to the Mayo Hospital, however, four of them, who were in critical condition, passed away.
According to rescue officials, the victims were labourers who lived on the upper floor of the warehouse. Initial reports suggested the fire broke out due to a short circuit.
The entire warehouse was engulfed in flames that took 5 fire trucks two hours to quench. Fire brigade and rescue teams reached the spot and brought the fire under control.
Rescue teams shifted the dead bodies and injured persons to Mayo Hospital, Lahore.
According to rescue sources, the victims were residing on the upper storey of the warehouse. Rescue sources also informed that the fire was caused due to short circuit.
Rescue sources said that the deceased were identified as Khuda Yaar, Abdul Wadood, Abdul Malik and Feroze while injured included Zia, Taimur, Shahab, Abdulkhaliq, Attaud Din, Abdul Halim, Sher Wali, Aziz, Walid, Abdul Razzaq, Rehmat, Habib Ullah, Abdul Khaliq, Aziz Khan, Akhtar and Kashif.
