Foundation University Islamabad proudly celebrated its 2024 Convocation at the Jinnah Auditorium, Foundation University School of Health Sciences. The convocation was graced with the presence of Maj Gen Muhammad Kaleem Asif, HI(M) (Retd), Rector FUI, serving as the Chief Guest. Joining him were distinguished guests including Maj Gen Imran Fazal HI (M) (R), Director of the Foundation University School of Health Sciences; Maj Gen Waseem Ahmed, HI (M) (Retd), Dean & Principal of the Foundation University College of Dentistry, a visionary leader in dental education; and Capt. Yasmeen Saggu (R), Dean & Principal of the Foundation University College of Nursing, renowned for her dedication to advancing nursing education and promoting healthcare excellence.
The ceremony witnessed the conferral of 116 degrees, honouring academic brilliance with 7 gold medals for first positions,5 silver medals, and 7 certificates of distinction, alongside 26 merit certificates for BDS graduates, and 4 gold medals, 2 silver medals, 3 distinctions, and 16 merit certificates for BSN/PRN.BSN graduates.
During the annual report, the Director captivated the audience with highlights of pioneering achievements. FUCD&H continues to shine with its PM&DC recognition and CPSP certification, excelling in specialized training programs for future dental leaders. As an active IAMRA member, the university has forged strategic partnerships globally. The nursing college, established in 2018, boasts a vibrant campus accommodating 600 students, nurturing graduates ready to serve with dedication.
Furthermore, FUCD&H remains committed to fostering an environment where students can strive for excellence and innovation in their respective fields. The Foundation University Journal of Dentistry stands out with its sustained HEC “Y” category and newly achieved PM&DC recognition in February 2024.
In his address, Chief Guest Maj Gen Muhammad Kaleem Asif uplifted the spirits of graduates, underscoring their transformative roles as they embark on their careers. Dentistry graduates will enhance oral health and inspire smiles, while nursing graduates will become the epitome of compassion and care.
