LAHORE – Former Pakistan Test cricketer Nazir Junior passed away, his family confirmed on Thursday.
The family members said that Nazir Junior had been critically ill for several days and was taken to the hospital after his condition worsened yesterday.
The family also shared that Nazir Junior’s health had been deteriorating since he suffered injuries in a traffic accident five years ago.
Nazir Junior’s son Nauman Nazir had recently appealed to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and higher authorities for assistance with his father’s medical treatment.
Nazir Junior represented Pakistan in 14 Test matches and 4 ODIs, during which he claimed a total of 37 wickets.
