Muslim Hands, in collaboration with the Pak-Afghan Cooperation Forum and the Government of Pakistan, has dispatched 20 trailers loaded with 350 tons of food items and winter kits to Afghanistan on humanitarian grounds.

In this regard, a ceremony was organized at F-9 Park to send these trailers to Afghanistan. Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Dr. Pir Noor-ul-Haq Qadri was the chief guest..Speaking on the occasion, Noor-ul-Haq Qadri said that Afghans are our Muslim brothers and neighbors and we have a centuries-old relationship with them.

Our goal is to provide the people of Afghanistan with immediate humanitarian assistance in the form of food and non-food items, as well as help them to stand on their own two feet so that they can make their homeland a peaceful, stable, and dignified country.

Briefing the media on the occasion, Syed Lakht e Hasnain, Chairman Muslim Hands, expressed special gratitude to the donors in the UK in particular and around the world in general who are always at the forefront for serving the people suffering from natural and manmade disasters.

He said that the organization was initially going to provide food package for three months to 1700 families of Afghanistan worth of 60 million Pakistani rupees. These families are unable to buy basic necessities due to the economic situation in the country.

Addressing the event, Habibullah, chairman of the Pak-Afghan Cooperation Forum, said last year’s drought had exacerbated the plight of the Afghan people and if immediate and effective measures were not taken, the situation could turn into a humanitarian catastrophe.
