Punjab Minister for Food Samiullah Chaudhry visited the cheap rate special sale point of flour at Shadman Sunday Bazaar. Food Secretary Waqas Ali Mehmood, Deputy Commissioner Danish Afzaal and Food Director Wajid Ali Shah were also present on this occasion.
While talking to the media, the minister said that standardized and quantified flour was being provided to the people at cheap rates by trucks. 20 kg flour bag at Rs790 and 10 kg flour bag at Rs395 was being sold at subsidized rates in the model bazaars. He said that there was no crisis of flour in Punjab.
Samiullah Chaudhry said that there were large reserves of wheat and flour in Punjab. The crackdown was being carried out against hoarders and profiteers. He said that the PTI government was working honestly and dedicatedly under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan and Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar. Around 814 flour mills were operational in Punjab, flour was available at 181 truck stations while 367 sale points have been set up by flour mills.
Samiullah further said that any person who has the complaint about the price and availability of flour can contact the toll-free numbers 0800-13505/0800-60606 of Food Department directly. He said that the Food Department imposed fine of Rs 14 crore on 525 flour mills for violating the rules, suspended license of 125 and also suspended irresponsible and lazy officers/officials of the department.
