Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has emphasized the need of addressing the Afghan people’s humanitarian needs and providing development aid to the war-torn nation.
During a telephone discussion with his Bahraini counterpart, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, the foreign minister expressed Islamabad’s perspective despite the extraordinary situation that has arisen of recent events in the neighboring country.
“Peaceful and stable Afghanistan is of critical importance for Pakistan and the region,” Qureshi said and called for international solidarity with the Afghan people in terms of financial and political support.
The FM also informed his counterpart about Pakistan’s ongoing international aid in a variety of methods, including the establishment of a humanitarian corridor for the delivery of relief goods, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA).
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two diplomats discussed various aspects of Pakistan-Bahrain ties and decided to enhance cooperation in all fields.
Both parties agreed to maintain close communication on bilateral and regional topics of mutual interest.
