Deputy Commissioner Mahtab Waseem Azhar has said Price Magistrates had been checking markets, petrol refilling stations, general stores, food outlets to ensure that traders sell the commodities according to the rates list issued by the market committee on daily basis since 1 January instant. He was addressing a meeting with heads of all district departments including Assistant Commissioners of all three tehsils, ADC General, ADC Revenue here at district complex. So far, he said Price Magistrates had carried out 2529 raids. He said traders, petrol pump owners and shopkeepers found violating rate list and having faulty measuring scales and overcharging the customers were booked under the law. He said all out efforts in cooperation with traders leaders were being made to keep prices of commodities under control and within reach of the poor and commoners. He said vegetable and fruit sale counters have been established in the markets where farmers.
