Nuristan province said that 8 members of a family died as a result of floods in the province.

According to the local officials of Nuristan, these floods have caused financial and human losses and destroyed the bridge which was connecting Nuristan to Kunar.

“Eight members of this family, including children and women, died due to floods. Only the father of the family survived,” said Qari Mirza, a resident of Nuristan.

“We ask the Islamic Emirate to build a bridge for us before the arrival of Eid so that we can cross it,” said Habibullah, a local resident.

“Employees of the Islamic Emirate went to Nuristan and helped the people, and the survey of the people is ongoing. The governor of Nuristan is in contact with officials in Kabul, and with the cooperation of the Kunar governor, they are trying to open the way for travelers,” said Saifuddin Laton, the spokesman of Nuristan governor. Local officials in Nuristan said that as a result of the flooding, hundreds of acres of agricultural land have been destroyed as well as dozens of houses.—TOTLO
