Flights Disrupted At Karachi Lahore Airports Due To Adverse Weather

LAHORE/KARACHI – The flight operations at major airports across the country were severely disrupted on Tuesday due to adverse weather conditions, low passenger load and operational reasons which resulted in the multiple cancellations and delays.

At Karachi and Lahore airports, several domestic and international flights operated by various airlines were either cancelled or delayed.

The sources said that Flynas cancelled its two-way flights between Karachi and Jeddah, while Gulf Air also cancelled its round-trip service between Karachi and Bahrain.

 AirSial cancelled a total of eight two-way flights from Karachi to Lahore, Sialkot and Islamabad.

Similarly, Flyadeal cancelled two round-trip flights between Karachi and Riyadh, while Airblue cancelled two two-way flights between Karachi and Lahore.

Ethiopian Airlines also cancelled its two-way flights between Karachi and Addis Ababa.

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flights PK-306 and PK-307 operating between Karachi and Lahore could not be operated.

In addition, AirAsia cancelled its two-way flights between Karachi and Kuala Lumpur.

Meanwhile, flight operations at Lahore Airport were badly affected due to persistent dense fog.

 Three flights operating to and from Najaf, Abu Dhabi and Karachi were cancelled, while three PIA and Saudi Airlines flights bound for Jeddah faced delays.

Sources said that six private and foreign airline flights operating to and from Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Karachi from Lahore were delayed by two to four hours.

The airport authorities  advised passengers to confirm the latest status of their flights with the respective airlines before heading to the airport.
