LAHORE—The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) sealed 106 illegal commercial buildings and commercialization fee defaulter premises during operations in different areas of Lahore on Friday.
LDA Town Planning Wing sealed 27 businesses in Azam Gardens, 34 in Gulberg and New Garden Town, and 45 on Township’s College Road for illegal commercial use and not paying commercialization fees.
The sealed premises include Fine Pizza, Dahli Spices & Grocery Store, private school, clinic, pharmacy, café, bakers, restaurant, beauty parlor, offices and other businesses.
LDA Chief Town Planner I Assad-uz-Zaman and Chief Town Planner II Azhar Ali supervised the operations, which were carried out by the enforcement teams with the help of the Police.
As per the LDA officials, several notices were served to the owners of these buildings before carrying out the operations.
LDA Director General Tahir Farooq has directed continuing indiscriminate operations against violation of bylaws, encroachments, illegal commercial buildings and commercialization fee defaulters in Lahore.
