The administration of the Capital Development Authority is carrying out massive beautification in the city alongwith the construction and development of the city.
In this regard, about fifty new parks have been developed across the city by the concerned departments in the light of the directions of the CDA administration during the last one year.
Parks were developed in the sectors where people were residing but facilities including healthy environment were missing. Due to the special interest of CDA management, special attention has been paid to the development of parks in such sectors and areas.
It is pertinent to mention here that parks have also been developed in various areas of Islamabad on state lands which were retrived during anti-encroachment operations and on places where garbage and dabres were piled up. Over the past one year, parks were developed in Sector I-14, I-16, D-12, I-11, G-11, G-11/2, I-10, F-11, F-10, I-9, I-8, Park Enclave, Diplomatic Enclave, G-7, H-8, F-6, Rawal Town, Shahzad Town, Bani Gala, Mulpur, G-14, E-11, Shakrial, Shakar Parian, Khana Pull and other areas of the city.
According to the details, construction of 50 parks in these areas cost Rs. 341.301 million. In order to provide more healthy activities to the citizens, the concerned departments at the direction of Capital Development Authority management last year also constructed cycle tracks and jogging tracks at 7th Avenue, Sector E-7, Faisal Avenue, Zero Point, Serena Chowk.
While Upgradation of Art Gallery in F-9 Park, Upgradation of Center Square in F-9 Park, Upgradation of Cricket Ground in F-9 Park, Rehabilitation of Amphitheater, Jogging Track on Green Belt connected to Sector E-9 in F-9 Park.
Other development works including wood carvings and calligraphy in F-9 Park, construction of sit-out area in F-9 Park, restoration of F-10 and E-8 boundary walls in F-9 Park, construction of mosque in the park are also included in the recent beautification activities.
On this occasion, the management of Capital Development Authority said that providing healthy environment and recreational facilities to the citizens are among the top priorities of the organization.
