Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has pledged a swift and strong response to any aggression against Pakistan.
Speaking at a luncheon reception hosted for Jordan’s King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein at the President’s House on Sunday, he said that the Pakistan army defeated India in the May war with the special blessing of Allah Almighty.
“Pakistan’s Army is Allah’s Army, its soldiers fight in the name of Allah,” he stated.
Pakistan downed seven Indian fighter jets, including three Rafale aircraft, while defending the motherland. India’s unprovoked strikes resulted in the martyrdom of several civilians and security personnel.
India’s strikes came after a terrorist attack on tourists in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam area. India, without providing any concrete evidence, held Pakistan responsible for the attack, which resulted in 28 casualties. After the unprovoked Indian aggression, Pakistan targeted over 20 military sites in a retaliatory strike.
The war between the neighbouring nuclear states ended with a ceasefire agreement facilitated by United States President Donald Trump after the success of “Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos”.
Reaffirmed commitment to peace, he said that Pakistan would respond immediately and firmly to any aggression like it did in May.
Referring to the verses from the Holy Quran, he said that Allah Almighty has promised believers that with faith they can defeat any enemy, regardless of its strength. He recalled that Pakistan demonstrated this during the conflict with India in May.
