LAHORE  – Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Tuesday initiated a thorough inquiry into purported irregularities concerning ticket sales for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) and international cricket matches.

The sources said that the FIA launched the probe after complaints of financial misconduct amounting to millions of rupees within the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

Specifically, they said, they said the concerns were raised before the FIA regarding fraudulent activities surrounding the sale of tickets.

In response to these allegations, FIA officials in Lahore summoned Officer namely Umar to provide a statement.

The sources confirmed that all ticket records were seized as part of the investigation.

“The substantial sums of money have been misappropriated in the ticket sales process,” said the source.  The FIA, they said, would  extend its inquiry beyond initial concerns.

In light of these developments, it is anticipated that further officials from the PCB would be called upon to assist in the investigation as it progresses.
