LAHORE – The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Zonal Office Lahore on Thursday registered 1,670 FIRs and disposed of 4,000 out of around 5,000 inquiries during the past year.
The facts emerged during briefing of FIA officials in a meeting chaired by Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi in Lahore on Thursday.
The briefing further revealed that 295 proclaimed offenders (POs) were arrested during the period.
The meeting was attended by the FIA director general, FIA Zonal Office Lahore director and all circle heads.

During the meeting, Naqvi reviewed progress on the FIA Zonal Office Lahore’s upgradation project and directed officials to complete it at the earliest.
The interior minister ordered a strict crackdown on networks involved in human trafficking and hawala-hundi, stressing that the entire chain of such criminal operations should be brought within the ambit of the law.
A decision was also taken in principle to replace outdated cameras installed at immigration counters at airports across the country with modern, advanced technology-enabled surveillance systems.
The meeting further gave in-principle approval to use the Pak ID app for registering complaints related to FIA services.
Naqvi said the government was providing FIA officers and staff with all possible facilities and resources and would continue to do so.
“Crackdowns against criminal gangs are your responsibility, and tangible results should be visible,” said the minister while addressing theofficials.
