Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in its operation in Peshawar on Thursday arrested two members of a gang of foreign currency smugglers while in another operation in Dera Ismael Khan took into custody four members of a gang involved in the making of fake identity cards (CNICs) and other documents. In a major operation in Dera Ismael Khan, FIA in collaboration with security institutions nabbed four people, including two NADRA officials, for issuing fake identity cards, domiciles and passports to the Afghan nationals living in the city and its outskirts.
According to reports, so far over 20,000 Afghan nationals living in the area have managed to obtain fake identity cards. The FIA officials also claimed to have recovered from those arrested fake stamps.
