Fauji Fertilizer Company (FFC) and Al Khidmat Foundation have signed MOU in a ceremony held at FFC Head Office to collaborate towards a Food Secure Pakistan.
The ceremony was presided over by CE & MD FFC, Lt Gen Tariq Khan (Retd) HI (M) and President Al Khidmat, Hamid Ather.
FFC, with a legacy of extending assistance to small and medium farmer has recently launched its “Sona Center” project, which aims at extending social-welfare and economic uplift opportunities to farmers across Pakistan. The Centers, with first already in place at Rahim Yar Khan, extends capacity building, technical support, micro financing, health, education and women empowerment programs to small and medium farmers.
FFC’s vision for a food secure Pakistan rests with progressive and modernized farming, with measures to eliminate exploitation of farmers and their produce.
Al Khidmat through these centers will add to the social security program for the targeted community by extending its humanitarian services including Orphan Care Program, which is benefitting over 12,000 across Pakistan, with a support stipend of Rs. 3,500/- per month. Both organizations pledged to scale up their cooperation to other areas as well including healthcare, clean water, poverty alleviation, and community uplift etc.
