Federal Ombudsman Advisor reviews utility store operations

Syed ZakirHussain, Advisor to the Federal Ombudsman Secretariat Regional Office Karachi, conducted a visit to a Utility Stores Corporation (USC) outlet to assess the availability of essential items at subsidized rates and service delivery standards. During the visit, he inspected various sections of the store, checked item quality and prices, and inquired about the sale process.

Hussain expressed satisfaction with the stock availability and arrangements made for consumers, particularly beneficiaries of the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) and those with monthly incomes below Rs 60,000. He emphasized the importance of continuing subsidies on essential items beyond Ramazan-ul-Mubarak to provide ongoing relief to deserving families.

Additionally, Hussain visited the Employees Old-age Benefits Institution (EOBI) AwamiMarkaz Office to address delays in pension approvals and instructed officials to resolve applicants’ issues promptly.
