In tribal district of Lower South Waziristan Wana held a grand Jirga of tribal elders against 22 hours of illegal loadshedding of electricity in which the families of all the tribes participated in large numbers, tribal elders demanded an immediate reduction in loadshedding.

On this occasion Malik Azizullah and Malik Gulap Ka Ka Khel while talking to the media said that there is 22 hours of load shedding in our area Wana due to which the wheel of life has come to a standstill. There is no clean drinking water in homes, water for ablution is not available in mosques which is a big problem. Tribal elders said that due to load shedding, all business has stopped, all our work is done with electricity.

They strongly demanded the federal government and Tesco authorities to end the load shedding, otherwise we will be forced to close down not only the Wana Bazar but also the Wana to DI Khan route will be closed for all kinds of traffic. If the government does not accept our demand, we will boycott polio.
