ISLAMABAD: The Federal Government has reappointed the chairpersons and members of the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) Councils of Complaints for Islamabad and Balochistan for a period of two years.
According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (Internal Publicity Wing) on July 20, 2026, the appointments have been made with the approval of the Federal Government and will take effect immediately.
For the Islamabad Council of Complaints, Syed Muhammad Ali has been reappointed as Chairperson. The members include Ms. Fouzia Shahid, Mr. Gauhar Zahid Malik, Mr. Kaiwan Hamid Raja, and Dr. Surayya Kanwal Afridi.
For the Balochistan Council of Complaints, Ms. Durchen Marri has been reappointed as Chairperson. The members are Mr. Afzal Murad, Mir Atta Ullah Kalper Bugti, Ms. Sumaira Zakir, Ms. Maryam Tanveer, and Mir Alam Zaib Marri.
The notification states that the reappointments are effective immediately and will remain valid for two years.
