Fed insurance ombudsman, CM discusses relief for policyholders

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah met with Federal Insurance Ombudsman Syed Mumtaz Shah at the CM House. The meeting focused on the Ombudsman’s efforts to provide relief to insurance policyholders and address their grievances. Syed Mumtaz Shah informed the Chief Minister about the performance of his office, highlighting that the Federal Insurance Ombudsman has provided relief worth Rs 5 billion to around 5,000 complainants.

The headquarters of the Federal Insurance Ombudsman is in Karachi, with regional offices in Hyderabad, Sukkur, Lahore, Multan, Islamabad, Peshawar, and Quetta. “The Federal Insurance Ombudsman resolves complaints by listening to both parties and has provided relief to policyholders, ensuring transparency, fairness, and swift justice within 60 days,” said Mumtaz Shah. Last year, approximately 5,000 complaints were filed against insurance companies, resulting in Rs 5 billion in relief following the Ombudsman’s directives.

Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah appreciated Syed Mumtaz Shah’s dedication and hard work, acknowledging his previous service as the senior-most officer and Chief Secretary of Sindh. The Chief Minister praised Shah’s capabilities and public service, assuring him of full support from the Sindh government.
