President Faisalabad Women Chamber of Commerce & industry (FWCCI) Mrs. Qurat-ul-Ain expressing serious concerns over the new Federal Budget has said that it is destined to collapse as 52% population of women have been totally ignored in it.
Commenting on the Budget Speech of Mr. Hammad Azhar, she said that demographically women share half of the total population of Pakistan. They are playing their productive role in different sectors of economy but the present Government is quite ignorant of it.
Mrs. Qurat-ul-Ain said that no special scheme has been introduced in this budget to facilitate women entrepreneurs who are already work under most unsupportive environment. She told that FWCCI had already submitted Budget Proposals in addition to Corona related proposals specifically to rehabilitate the women owned businesses. But these viable proposals have been discarded by the Government. She said that Government should review these specific proposals relating to female entrepreneurs and include these into Federal Budget before it has formal approval by the National Assembly.
FWCCI President said that this Budget is the worst example of isolating women from the decision making at the highest level. She said that this practice is detrimental to the national interest and without mainstreaming of women entrepreneurs; we could not achieve the GDP Growth of 2.1% set in the Federal Budget for the year 2020-21.
