The Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) in view of acute cold and chilly weather in the federal capital has revised the timings for schools and colleges of the federal capital w.e.f from Wednesday (today) and according to the new schedule from Monday to Thursday, schools and colleges working under the FDE will open at 8:30 a.m. instead of 8:00 a.m. and close at 2:30 p.m. instead of 2:00 p.m. as per previous timings. On Friday, however, the schools will open at 8:30 a.m. but close at 12:30 p.m. instead of 12:00 p.m. previously. According to a notification issued by the FDE on Tuesday, “all educational institutions working under the ambit of FDE shall observe these timings w.e.f January 11, 2023 (today).
However, for the educational institutions with double shifts, from Monday to Thursday the Morning Shift will start at 8:00 a.m. and end at 1:30 p.m. while Friday timing will remain the same i.e. from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. With regard to the Evening shift, from Monday to Thursday, the FDE schools and colleges will start at 1:30 p.m. and close at 7:00 p.m. while on Friday the evening shift will start at 2:30 p.m. and close at 7:00 p.m. According to the new timings, for the Pre-I (Montessori/Prep) the timings will remain 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. from Monday to Friday.
