ISLAMABAD – The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) on Thursday approved an extension in the deadline for filing income tax returns for individuals and companies.
The top tax body has asked tax filers to submit returns till October 15, 2021. The extension comes hours before the deadline expires tonight.
Earlier, FBR had expressed reluctance to extend the deadline i.e September 30 for people seeking to file their income tax returns.
However, it has given 15-day extension keeping in view the requests made by the business community and the technical issues faced by the tax filers.
Reports said that Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin has decided to extend the date due to the constant demands from the business community.
