Emphasizing that the politics of confrontation would weaken democracy in the country, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Faisal Karim Kundi said on Wednesday that if people had rejected the JUI-F in the recently held general elections, its chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman should not take its revenge on the country’s democracy through his statements.

Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, he said that Maulana’s recent statement was an insult to the masses. “The JUI-F chief should now name those people who, as per his statement, were involved in the sale and purchase of assemblies,” Kundi demanded. He further said that if Maulana thought that the elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) had been rigged, then he should bear in mind that it was the PTI, which was the beneficiary of that rigging.—NNI
