Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has called an all parties conference in Islamabad on Tuesday to deliberate on the next course of action for the anti-government campaign by the opposition.
The conference will be hosted by the JUI-F leader and, according to sources, notices have been issued to nine parties so far in order to decide a strategy against the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.
Fazl telephoned Pakistan People’s Party Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Pakistan Muslim League-N General Secretary Ahsan Iqbal to discuss the political situation in the country, especially after the Azadi March.
The other parties that have been invited are Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party, Awami National Party, Jamiat Ulema-i-Pakistan and Jamiat Ahle Hadith. Pakistan People’s Party Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Monday accepted Maulana Fazlur Rehaman’s invitation for the APC, according to his spokesperson.
According to Senator Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar, Bilawal will lead the party delegation in the APC and present his party’s stance on the opposition’s campaign against the government. However, PML-N’s Maryam Nawaz has excused herself from attending the meeting due to health issues.
Instead, PML-N has decided to send its four-member delegation, including senator Raja Zafarul Haq, Ahsan Iqbal, Ayaz Sadiq and Amir Muqam to attend the opposition’s meeting
