LAHORE – As People in Punjab and parts of Pakistan are looking for cheap energy sources after recent government announcements, several portals mushroomed over the last year, misleading people with FAKE Registration forms and catchy thumbnails.

In the start, only a few websites were claiming with such fishy activities, before the menace picked pace as clickbait portals asked people to enter their personal information to be part of government-run scheme.

Several portals including “solar-panel-scheme-2024”, “Roshan Gharana Program Registration”  and many more are tricking people, using Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s pictures along with punchlines like “Free Solar For Users with 200 Units”.

It also pushed people with the November 10 deadline to register themselves at the portals – an absolute sham, as there is no such deadline or portal being operated by the government.
