The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) intelligence wing apprehended an imposter claiming to be the NAB chairman, along with an accomplice, in the provincial capital on Monday.
The arrest was made following accusations of blackmail and fraudulent activities where the individuals allegedly posed as senior NAB officials to extort money from citizens. Identified as AwaisZahoor and AamirZahoor, the suspects are accused of coercing and pressuring individuals for monetary gain.
The prompt action was taken by NAB Lahore’s Intelligence Wing, leading to the suspects’ arrest and subsequent handover to the Chung police station for further investigation. The spokesperson stressed upon the gravity of the allegations and highlighted the familial relationship between the accused, who operated in tandem to exploit their victims.
