Faisalabad to mark Punjab Culture Day on 14th

On the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar, Punjab Culture Day will be celebrated with traditional zeal and fervor here in the district on March 14.

The district government has started preparations to mark the day in a befitting manner.

In this connection, Faisalabad Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ali presided over a meeting and assigned departments to preparations for celebration of Punjab Culture Day.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (G) Khurram Pervez, Assistant Commissioners –Umar Maqbool, Syed Ayub Bukhari and Muhammad Haider, District Officer (Sports) Sajida Latif, Additional Director Livestock Dr Haider Ali, Caretaker Iqbal Stadium Naveed Nazir, Industrialist Farrukh Zaman, representatives of Agricultural University, Metropolitan Corporation, PHA, Education Department and other officers concerned also attended the meeting.

On the occasion, the DC directed the ACs to chalk out measures for setting up of Food Street and Flower Exhibition besides organizing Horse and Cattle Show, Dog Show, traditional Kabaddi Match, Concert and Punjabi Mushaira on Punjab Culture Day.

He said that the culture of Faisalabad should be promoted by celebrating the day in a traditional manner for which tasks should be carried out with enthusiasm.

He said that Punjabi culture should be fully reflected in all the celebrations.

The DC declared that targets assigned to departments would be reviewed on regular basis so they should realize their responsibilities.

During the meeting, the officers put forward suggestions for making the Punjab Culture Day a success.
