ISLAMABAD – A major reshuffle appears to be happening within federal cabinet, with underperforming ministers reportedly at risk of losing their portfolios as the government weighs fresh appointments.

Amid the expected shake-up, several known political faces including Faisal Sabzwari and Senator Afnan Ullah emerged as potential entrants to the cabinet, according to sources.

As per reports, the government is weighing major changes to the federal cabinet as part of an effort to improve governance and streamline the administrative structure. The move is also said to be aimed at reducing the financial burden on the national exchequer by merging certain ministries.

The new names under consideration for inclusion in the federal cabinet are:

Rana Iradat Sharif, Wajeeha Qamar, Ali Zahid, Rana Ehsan Afzal, Ikhtiar Wali, Nosheen Iftikhar, Abdul Rehman Kanju, Shamaila Rana, Faisal Sabzwari, Mukhtar Malik, Amina Batool, Senator Shahzeb Durrani, Senator Afnan Ullah, and Senator Bushra Anjum.

The sources further claimed that Ikhtiar Wali, Nosheen Iftikhar, and Abdul Rehman Kanju are being actively considered, with Shamaila Rana, Faisal Sabzwari, Mukhtar Malik, and Amina Batool also expected to be part of the proposed cabinet expansion.

Meanwhile, Senator Shahzeb Durrani, Senator Afnan Ullah, and Senator Bushra Anjum are also likely to be entrusted with responsibilities. According to the sources, the newly inducted members are expected to be appointed as Ministers of State.

The ministers deemed to have delivered unsatisfactory performance may lose their portfolios as Sharif led government seeks to add fresh faces into its ranks. However, no official notification has yet been issued, and the reported changes remain under consideration.
