KARACHI – Pakistani auto industry ended fiscal year 2025–26 on a strong note, with vehicle sales rising 28.9% month-on-month in June 2026. A month-on-month (MoM) increase compares sales in one month with those in the previous month, in this case. The rise shows that consumers purchased more vehicles amid reports of increase in vehicles prices, making it the strongest month of the fiscal year.

Data shared by PAMA shows affordable hatchbacks remained backbone of Pakistan’s passenger car market, with Suzuki Alto comfortably retaining its lead, while SUVs, particularly Haval, Tank and Suzuki Fronx, continued to witness strong demand. Meanwhile, sales exceeded production across most vehicle categories during the month, suggesting sustained market activity.

The new ‘Boss’ Alto maintained its position as Pakistan’s best-selling passenger car in June 2026, with 7,239 units sold, according to the latest automobile production and sales data for the month. Overall, 15,378 passenger cars were sold during June, slightly higher than 15,209 units produced, reflecting steady consumer demand across the segment.

Alto dominated the market by accounting for nearly half of all passenger car sales during the month. Toyota’s Corolla, Yaris and Corolla Cross lineup secured the second position with 2,650 units sold, narrowly ahead of Honda Civic and City, which recorded 2,594 sales.

On the production front, Suzuki Alto also led with 5,921 units, followed by Toyota Corolla, Yaris and Corolla Cross at 3,100 units, Honda Civic & City at 2,692 units, and Suzuki Swift at 1,904 units.

SUVs and pickups segment continued to perform strongly during June, with 7,363 units sold. Haval/Tank remained the top-selling SUV with 2,720 units, while Suzuki Fronx posted 1,717 sales, making it the second-best-selling model in the category.
