Results of February 8 elections began trickling in after a huge delay, and as all eyes are on polling numbers, the resignation of a returning officer surfaced online.
The viral notice shows Khushab Additional Deputy Commissioner Ahmed Sohaib – who was appointed as Returning Officer during general election – stepped down amid polling process.
It has not mentioned the specifics about the decision but said last three days have been a nightmare for him. The letter also quoted a poem of legendary Urdu poet Faiz Ahmad Faiz titled ‘Dil Mann Musafir Mann’.

As social media users – especially political party supporters – started sharing the notice without being aware of its authenticity. DC Office spokesperson rejected the notification.
