At the heart of this achievement was the establishment of a state-of-the-art Media Facilitation Centre at the Jinnah Convention Centre, providing an unparalleled experience for foreign journalists covering the historic talks between the US and Iran.
Under the guidance of Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar, the Information Ministry ensured that every aspect of media requirements was anticipated and addressed on remarkably short notice. The media facilitation centre reflected meticulous planning and a forward-looking approach. Its high-speed technical infrastructure stood out as a key highlight. Journalists were provided with reliable, high-speed internet, fully equipped workstations and dedicated charging points, ensuring seamless coverage of live developments. Broadcast and production facilities were equally impressive, with dedicated areas for interviews, live broadcasts etc. The installation of large screens and digital boards allowed correspondents to instantly access updates, mirroring the capabilities typically seen at global media hubs and in many ways, surpassing them. Beyond technical excellence, the Media Facilitation Centre prioritized convenience and comfort. Comprehensive arrangements for meals, refreshments and transportation ensured that journalists feel full at ease and perform their duties without interruption.
On-site media management staff further contributed to smooth operations, reflecting attention to every detail. It is noteworthy that these arrangements were executed flawlessly despite the tight timelines. The establishment of the Media Facilitation Centre not only met but, in many respects, exceeded international standards. It was a powerful demonstration that Pakistan possesses both the infrastructure and organizational capacity to host mega events while providing foreign delegates and media representatives a world-class experience. The entire team of the Information Ministry deserves applause for these excellent arrangements which contributed to further highlighting the positive image of Pakistan. The CDA also deserves appreciation for their efforts in decorating the federal capital for this momentous occasion, which added a welcoming aura to the capital and left a lasting impression on international guests.
