Asma Jahangir conference on the Role of Judiciary in Protecting of Human rights and strengthening Democracy held at Lahore was a gimmick of its organizers to malign the national institutions.
The office-bearers of Pakistan Ex-Servicemen Society Mandi Bahauddin said this in a meeting held the other day to express resentment against the organizers of the Conference and the speakers who in their tirades bad-mouthed the army chief without any justification.
They said lawyers are part of the judiciary and if the judiciary fails to deliver transparent justice, the lawyers are equally responsible. The leadership of the lawyer’s fraternity always uses tactics to exert pressure on judges to get the decisions of their choice.
