Gulshan Iqbal police in Lahore successfully apprehended a member of a criminal gang engaged in the illicit trade of human kidneys. The arrested individual, identified as Nadeem, was captured along with his associate, Shoaib, following an intensive operation led by SHO Gulshan Iqbal, Syed Qamar Abbas, and his dedicated police team.

Reports suggest that Nadeem and Shoaib orchestrated a scheme wherein they targeted unsuspecting individuals from impoverished backgrounds, enticing them with promises of work opportunities in various localities. One such victim, Salim, a laborer by profession, was lured into their trap under the pretext of offering him employment related to house painting.

Upon gaining Salim’s trust, the perpetrators administered a drugged juice, rendering him unconscious. Subsequently, they would transport their victims to Islamabad, where they would hand them over to a certain individual known as Dr. Zafar. Dr. Zafar’s involvement in the scheme reportedly included monetary transactions with the accused.

It is alleged that Nadeem and Shoaib would offer victims a meager sum of 50,000 to 60,000 rupees, falsely claiming it as partial payment for their kidneys.—INP
