Everyone should play role to steer country out of crises: Governor



Punjab Governor Muhammad Balighur Rehman Wednesday said that everyone, including the business community, should play a positive role to steer the country out of prevailing crises. He said that the country is currently faced with many challenges including economic crisis

He stated this while talking to a delegation of Shahdara Traders Board led by President Anjuman Tajran GT Road Shahdara, Abdul Rauf Niazi which called on him Governor House Lahore.

Speaking on the occasion, Muhammad Balighur Rehman said that providing conductive environment for the business community is one of the priorities of the government. He said business community is a source of employment for many people along with improving the country’s economy by paying taxes.

The Governor Punjab said that the menace of terrorism is rising again. He said that terrorists want to create instability in the country, but the whole nation has to unite to thwart their nefarious intentions.

The delegation apprised the Governor of Punjab about the various problems faced by them. The delegation expressed their reservations over poor planning and hasty flyover project in Shahdara contrary to public aspirations.

President Anjuman Tajran GT Road Shahdara Abdul Rauf Niazi said that the former Chief Minister of Punjab not only did Injustice to the people of Shahdara by restricting the Shahdara Chowk flyover project, but has also wasted billions of rupees of public exchequer for political point scoring.

He said that the tender for the project was awarded without completing the technical formalities which shows malice. He said that the Federal Government has approved the Imamia Colony Gate Flyover Project.
