The Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) revealed that 200 pilgrims from India are set to arrive in Pakistan via the Wagah border on Wednesday to partake in the festivities of the Hindu religious festival Shiv Ratri.

Senior officials of the board along with local Hindu leaders are poised to extend a warm welcome to the pilgrims upon their arrival.

The Spokesperson of ETPB said under the directives of the Additional Secretary and the Chairman of the Board, all necessary arrangements, including security, accommodation, and transportation, have been meticulously organized to ensure the pilgrims’ comfort and safety.

The spokesperson further disclosed that after a brief stay at the Hindu Yatri Lahore on March 6th, the pilgrims will depart for Katas Raj on March 7th. The main event of Maha Shiv Ratri, organized by the MatukahWaqf Estate Board, is slated to take place on March 9th at the historic Katas Raj Temple in Chakwal. The event will witness the participation of various political and social figures alongside religious leaders.

Following their spiritual journey, the pilgrims are scheduled to return to Lahore on March 10th. A tour of Lahore’s cultural landmarks, including the Krishna Temple and ShahiQila, is planned for March 11th, before the pilgrims bid farewell and return to India on March 12th.

This event not only underscores the cultural and religious ties between Pakistan and India but also highlights the efforts of the ETPB in facilitating religious pilgrimages and fostering goodwill between the two nations.
