Faisal Malik commends organizers for revitalizing sports activities

Empower Sports Academy proudly hosted the grand finale of the “Dove Presents Empower 1st National Women’s Volleyball Tournament, powered by Essa Laboratories” at the National Coaching Centre, PSB Karachi.
The event marked a milestone in promoting women’s sports in Pakistan, providing a vibrant platform for female athletes to showcase their skills and dedication. The grand finale was graced by the presence of Sindh Chief Secretary Syed Asif Hyder Shah as the chief guest. Congratulating the organizers, Shah praised their efforts in hosting such a prestigious tournament, emphasizing its role in empowering women through sports.

He announced Sindh Government’s upcoming plans to organize national games, underscoring a strong commitment to advancing the province’s sports culture. The event drew an enthusiastic audience, including prominent figures such as: Dr. Farhan Essa, CEO of Essa Laboratory & Diagnostic Centre, Sultana Siddiqui, President of HUM Network, Faisal Zahid Malik, Chairman and Editor-in-Chief of Pakistan Observer, Khushbakht Shujaat, a former politician, compere, and educationist, Shujaat Baig, families, celebrities, and supporters brought energy to the occasion, celebrating the transformative power of sports in society.
The finale featured a gripping showdown between the Karachi Women’s team and the Army team, delivering an electrifying match that captivated the audience. Earlier matches showcased equally inspiring performances, reflecting the talent and determination of over 600 participants from Karachi, Islamabad, and Faisalabad.

The tournament’s matches were played on seven newly upgraded Taraflex courts, highlighting Empower Sports Academy’s dedication to providing international-standard facilities. The use of advanced Sports Wrench software, a USA-based scoring system, ensured precise and transparent results, setting a benchmark for sports competitions in Pakistan.

This inaugural tournament is more than a competition; it is a symbol of progress, bridging the gender gap in athletics and promoting inclusivity. Faisal Zahid Malik commended the organizers for revitalizing sports activities in Karachi and pledged continued support for similar initiatives.

Empower Sports Academy, a non-profit organization dedicated to excellence in women’s sports, aims to prepare athletes for international competitions, including world championships and the Olympics. The academy’s efforts, embodied by this tournament, are paving the way for a new era of female athletes in Pakistan, reaffirming the nation’s commitment to gender equality and empowerment through sports.
