ISLAMABAD – Ericsson took a step forward in highlighting transformative role of modern connectivity, artificial intelligence (AI), and 5G in driving Pakistan’s digital economy during its participation in the inaugural EU–Pakistan Business Forum 2026, held in Islamabad.
The two-day high-profile forum brought together senior government officials, global technology leaders, investors, and key industry stakeholders. The event focused on exploring new opportunities for investment, innovation, and strengthening economic cooperation between Pakistan and the European Union.
During keynote sessions and high-level roundtable discussions, Ericsson highlighted how next-generation networks and AI-powered infrastructure can significantly boost productivity across critical sectors such as logistics, energy, mobility, and financial services—areas considered vital for Pakistan’s long-term economic development.

Speaking at the forum alongside the Federal Minister for IT and Telecom, Ericsson Pakistan Country President Aamir Ahsan stressed the importance of strong public–private partnerships in accelerating large-scale digital transformation. He highlighted that enabling policy frameworks, spectrum readiness, and investment-friendly regulations are essential to fully unlock the potential of 5G and AI technologies in Pakistan.
At its exhibition booth, Ericsson showcased its latest innovations and technological capabilities, demonstrating how high-performance and differentiated network solutions are enabling new business models, improving operational efficiency, and supporting emerging digital use cases across multiple industries.
The company’s participation comes at a time when Pakistan is increasingly prioritizing digital infrastructure as a key pillar of economic progress. Industry observers believe that faster adoption of advanced connectivity solutions could enhance productivity, improve public service delivery, and attract greater foreign investment into the country’s expanding digital ecosystem.
