Erdogan’s visit to boost bilateral trade: ICCI

Welcoming the visit of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Pakistan, President Muhammad Ahmed Waheed, Senior Vice President Tahir Abbasi and Vice President Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI) Saif ur Rehman Khan have expressed hoped that it would start a new era of growing trade and economic relations between the two countries.
In a joint statement issued here on Thursday, the ICCI officer bearers said that Pakistan and Turkey were enjoying exemplary friendship with unique relationship characterised by mutual respect, support, exceptional trust and understanding.
They said that these good relations should be transformed into growing trade and economic ties between the two countries that would produce highly beneficial results for the two nations.
They said that during the visit of Turkish President to Pakistan, both countries were expected to sign a number of important agreements/memorandums of understanding that should lay the foundation for sustainable and long-term business partnerships between the two countries.
The President SVP and VP ICCI said that Pakistan and Turkey have tremendous untapped potential to enhance bilateral cooperation in multiple fields that could to be realized by maximizing the direct connectivity between the private sectors of both countries.
They were hopeful that the economic relations between the two countries would get new momentum to create win-win collaborations for Pakistan and Turkey.
They ICCI office bearers said that Turkish President was coming to Pakistan along with a large business delegation that would enable the entrepreneurs of both countries to interact and explore all potential areas of business matchmakings. They said that Pakistan offered great opportunities for investment and JVs to Turkish businessmen in many fields including mining, real-estate, construction, textiles, information technology, carpet & plastic and stressed that Turkish businessmen should take benefit of these opportunities with technology transfer to Pakistan.
They said that both countries have also good potential to promote educational exchange, tourism exchanges and workforce exchanges for taking full advantage of each other’s expertise.
