Director General Environment Protection Authority (EPA) Zaheer Abbas Malik has vowed to combat smog with an effective strategy this year.
While addressing a high-level meeting at EPA, DG EPA Zaheer Abbas Malik said that this year EPA has a legal framework within which it will operate i.e., Smog Prevention and Control Rules 2023 in comparison and contrast with previous years. ‘Also equally important is the fact that EPA Punjab this year had started the campaign against polluting industries since May 2023 and didn’t take a break’, he said adding that EPA is ready to take up the task of combating smog in Punjab.
