England strengthened their position in the second Test against Pakistan at Lord’s on Friday, reaching 81-3 in their second innings to establish an overall lead of 261 runs.
Pakistan were earlier bowled out for 110, conceding a 180-run first-innings deficit.
Azan Awais top-scored with 46, while Saud Shakeel made 16. Jofra Archer took three wickets, with Ollie Robinson claiming four.
England, who had posted 290 in their first innings, lost Ben Duckett and Jordan Cox early in their second innings. Joe Root made 24 before being dismissed by Mohammad Ali, while Emilio Gay remained unbeaten on 30 and Harry Brook was seven not out at stumps.
Pakistan’s Mohammad Abbas was their best bowler in England’s first innings, finishing with 4-73, while Mohammad Ali took three wickets.
