Elevator closure at PINS Lifter operator suspended

Punjab Institute of Neuro Sciences (PINS) Medical Superintendent Dr Tahir Rasheed took notice of the closure of elevator at PINS during working hours on Thursday which caused difficulties to patients and their families issued orders for immediate suspension of lift operator Mohammad Irfan and departmental action has been directed against him.

He also constituted a three-member high level committee in this regard which will investigate the incident and submit a detailed report within 24 hours.

The Committee will be headed by Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Akmal as Chairman while the members of the Committee included Dr. Shahid Mukhtar and DMS Dr. Umar Naseem who will take a close look at all aspects of this incident and submit their recommendations.

It is noteworthy that as soon as the incident was reported, the administration of Punjab Institute of Neurosciences took immediate action and evacuated all the persons trapped in the elevator safely and no damage was done.

MS Dr. Tahir Rashid, has also instructed all the Lift Operators to be careful while learning lesson from this incident and not to show any kind of negligence during their duty.

He said that the patients coming to the hospital and their family members are already worried that they should not face any such tension so all lift operators.

should be aware of the condition of the lifts and their operational matters. He also appealed to the citizens not to overcrowd any elevator so that such an unfortunate incident does not happen again.
