Eid-ul-Azha to be celebrated on June 29

There is all likelihood that the Zilhaj moon will be sighted in Pakistan easily on June 19 (Monday) and consequently Eid –ul-Adah (the feast of sacrifice) would be celebrated on June 29 (Thursday) in Pakistan.

The new moon will be easily visible with naked eye on the evening of Monday 29th Dhul-Qadah i.e. 19th June, 2023.

As such 1st Zilhaj will fall on Tuesday, 20th June and EiduL Azha will be celebrated on Thursday, 29th June, 2023, in Pakistan.

The new moon will born on June 18 (Sunday) at 9:37 am Pakistan time and it will be more than 33 hours old in all Pakistani areas after sunset on next day. The moon can only be visible to naked eye if it is more than 19 hours old.

It may be mentioned here that the last two Islamic months of Ramazan and Shawwal were of 30 days.—INP
