RIYADH – The crescent moon of Dhul Hijjah has been sighted in Saudi Arabia, marking the beginning of the last Islamic month and Eid ul-Adha 2024 will be celebrated in the Arab nation on June 16, 2024 Sunday.

The key moonsighting locations were in Sudair and Tumair as Supreme Court mostly finalises its decisions based on those reports.
Moonsighting are also scheduled for other nations on the 29th day of the month of Dhul Qadah. Saudi officials have confirmed the commencement of the search for the new moon’s slim crescent.
Muslims in several countries, including the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Jordan, Syria, and Iraq, are expected to look for the Eid al-Adha crescent on Thursday, June 6, 2024.

In Pakistan, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee has scheduled a meeting on Friday at the Pakistan Meteorological Department building in Karachi to sight the crescent moon of Dhul Hijjah 1445 AH. Similar zonal meetings will take place in other provincial capitals, including Islamabad, on June 7, 2024, starting 30 minutes before the evening prayer.
