Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) preparations in full swing

Like other parts of the country, preparations to celebrate Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) are in full swing in the city.
Various roads and buildings are being decorated with colourful buntings,banners,flags and decorative lights.
In the city,special programmes are being finalised for paying tributes and to highlight different aspects of the life of Holy Prophet Mohammad (PBUH). Milad committees are seen collecting donations for celebrating the event in a befitting manner. On Rabi-ul-Awal 12, Eid Milad-un-Nabi processions would also be taken out from different areas. Milad Committees are also busy in finalizing schedule of ‘Mahafil-i-Naat’. Various social, cultural, educational institutions and religious organisations are finalising their programmes for Eid Miladun Nabi (PBUH) with religious fervour.
All bazaars, commercial shopping centres, government and private buildings are being illuminated. All the departments have been directed to give every possible help and clear the routes of the procession. The sale of decorative accessories for Eid Milad is rising as buildings,homes mosques and streets have to be decorated. The vendors have set up colourful stalls with unique collection of badges,stickers,flags and banners inscribed with the slogans paying respect and reverence to the Holy Prophet Hazrat (PBUH). Abid Ali,a stall holder in Urdu Bazar said,”Such occasions give us an opportunity to earn handsome amounts through selling flags, buntings,badges and stickers”. “The demand of decorative things increases before this important occasion as youngsters,especially children, turn up at the stalls to buy these items”, he said. Muhammad Wasif,a student said,”Me and my friends have collected some funds from the neighbours to decorate the whole street with colourful lights and other decorative things.Each year we decorate our street and adjoining areas for marking with reverence the upcoming most sacred occasion of birth of Holy Prophet (PBUH)”.
