Educational institutions’ closure extended to 23rd

Education Minister Saeed Ghani on Saturday announced that all the educational institutions would remain closed till May 23 to stem Covid-19 spread in the province.

 

According to an official notification, Education Minister Saeed Ghani said that physical classes will remain suspended till May 23; however, institutions can offer online classes through different modes including WhatsApp and emails.

 

Meanwhile, Punjab Minister for school education Dr Murad Raas has also said that all public and private schools in the province would remain closed till May 23.

 

In his tweet on Friday, he said that decision regarding closure of schools had been made in light of the coronavirus spread situation.

 

A review meeting in this regard would be held on May 18, he added. Murad Raas urged the people to follow corona standard operating procedures (SOPs) in letter and spirit to keep themselves and others safe from the virus.

 

Earlier on Friday, the federal education ministry directed the provinces to ensure the closure of educational institutions until May 23.”

 

Educational institutions shall remain closed till May 23 in view of the directives of the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) to deal with the third wave of Covid,” read a communique sent to all provinces, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.”
